It’s so hard to trust new events these days. I get it. I am so tired of seeing these “blogger” plan events and take authors hard earned money and they are left hanging. That’s one of the reason I came back. I want to connect authors with readers. Plus, not even gonna lie, this life of blogging and planning events gave me life. It was the most exciting time in my life and I loved every minute of it. There’s something so satisfying about working hard to create an event, then seeing it come to fruition.

I am currently in the early planning stages of a 2 day event to take place either in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 in Southwest Oklahoma. What can I tell you now?

It will be a 2 day event.

It will take place at Hilton Garden Inn, Lawton-Fort Sill Convention Center.

There will be a Friday Night Mixer, a Saturday morning author event, late Saturday afternoon excursion to Medicine Park, Oklahoma and Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge (You’ll fingers crossed get to see bison, longhorn steers, and prairie dogs in their natural habitat. I say fingers crossed because animals are persnickety.)

Here’s what else I can tell you about Lawton, Oklahoma.

  • There are 2 casinos within a mile of the hotel.

  • Huge park with a water park.

  • Home to Fort Sill Army Base.

  • Has about 120k people.

  • Has a regional airport.

  • We are 90 miles SW of Oklahoma City. It like an hour drive.

  • We are an hour from the Texas State Line just North of Wichita Falls, Tx.

  • We are 3 hours from DFW Metroplex.
